Day 3

Drabble: 3. "It never happened..."

A/N: Welcome to day 3! 3 Is my favorite number so I made a special drabble for today ^^. This drabble works as an epiloge for my previous fanfiction "Heart Theft" so it follows in that same universe after the events that took place hehe~. And yes, that means COP SHO IS BACK! I had so much fun writing MasakixCopSho I thought they deserved a little more ^-^ I hope you enjoy! I don't own them, sadly.

There was a light tap on the window of his patrol car, capturing Sho's attention when he found Aiba peeking inside the vehicle. Sho immediately unlocked the doors and stretched over the passenger's seat to help open the door for him.


Aiba entered as if no stranger, holding hot beverages in each hand while he maneuvered the door closed behind him, sealing them inside the warmth of the car.


"It's so cold!" Aiba exclaimed, passing the officer his drink and warming his hands with his own cup.


"I'm sorry for the trouble."


"It's fine! I'm glad you called me! I was surprised to hear you were in the area," said Aiba, unaware of the degree of effect his words had over the policeman as he smiled.


"I'm glad you answered." Sho tried to hide his amusement with a drink from his hot beverage.


As soon as the hot drink met with Sho's lips, the police man jerked due to the burn it caused in his mouth, pulling away from his cup perhaps too suddenly and causing some of the drink to spill down his chin, staining his uniform.


"Damn it! It's hot!" Sho complained.


"Oh no! I'm sorry, I should have warned you-"


"No, it's my stupid mistake." said Sho knowing his infatuation with the other was the real cause if his clumsiness.


"Wait... "


Sho was about to scrub the stains in his clothes when Aiba stopped him.


Aiba settled his drink down before taking one of his napkins, folding it neatly and wetting it with the tip of his tongue. He inched closer to Sho before starting to gently rub the wet napkin over the stains with a gentle pressure.


"It'll look bad on your uniform if we don't try cleaning it."


"Un... Thank you." Sho looked down at the younger who seemed clueless of how close their bodies had become. Sho's cheeks reddened from just observing him.


Once Aiba finished his task, they returned to sharing the silence of the patrol car, sipping quietly, and carefully, from their hot drinks.


"Say, Sakurai-san..." Masaki was the first to break the silence. "About what happened... that night." Masaki's words were incomplete and hesitant, but Sho understood his references right away. He gazed at the other nervously, trying to hold back from replaying the memory in his mind that still made him abashed.


"Could we... forget about it?"


Sho quickly turned to the other.


"Don't get me wrong! It's not that I want to forget I met you, it's just... what happened... it would be better if we could forget it. I mean, it wasn’t bad! I had fun too… it’s just…” Masaki trampled on his words, his cheeks reddening with the events replaying in his mind. “W-what I'm trying to say is… we shouldn't talk about it... I'm not making sense, I'm sorry."


"It never happened..." Sho spoke for both to understand. "I agree, it wouldn't be appropriate to talk about it, especially because of my job. It's fine if we could just forget about it. But still..."


Sho looked directly at Masaki, captured by the gentle gleam hidden in his eyes, just like the one he had found that eventful night. "I can't promise I'll forget about you."


Masaki blushed under the other's gaze, unable to repress the smile that sprout out of his lips.
